Preface

This Christian Soldiers Cross ™ is not to be associated or confused with any other.

Horseshoe nail art has been around since horseshoes. So, there are bound to be many variations of crosses. Although some may appear to be similar, the features and components may differ considerably.

With the aid of a local blacksmith, I began making horseshoe nail crosses to help my husband Rick exercise his fingers as a form of rehabilitation, after his stroke.  With practice, I learned to produce a quality cross that is very attractive. They generate a lot of attention and get many compliments.

These instructions only explain how I make a horseshoe nail cross. Once you learn how, you can change the theme, the colors, the meaning, the wire, size of nails etc.  You are encouraged to be creative and create crosses of your own.  The possibilities are unlimited! . . .

Throughout this book, I refer to the lower part of the cross as the “leg”, the portion that sticks out on each side as the “arms”, and the upper portion as the “neck”.

1.      Begin by pairing up two nails...

Tip: the nails in the box vary slightly in length; just enough to make the cross lop-sided. Be sure to match them closely
